Independent Pre-Preparatory and Preparatory School
for boys in Hampstead, London NW3
Swine Flu: 8 May 2009
The school is following the advice given by the Health Protection Agency. We are doing our utmost to ensure that boys follow general good hygiene practice by using tissues wherever possible, covering their mouth and nose when coughing and/or sneezing, and regularly washing their hands with soap and warm water. We have taken steps to make sure that door handles and surfaces are cleaned as often as is practicable.
Parents should let the school know if their son is unwell in the usual way, and should not send boys to school if they are feeling unwell. If their child is suffering from flu-type symptoms, they should stay at home to limit contact with others, and seek medical advice from their GP or by contacting NHS Direct on 0845 4647 or http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk.

Lyndhurst House Preparatory School is a non-denominational independent pre-preparatory and preparatory day school in Hampstead, for boys aged from four to thirteen.
Lyndhurst is a friendly and lively traditional boys' school, with its own special atmosphere and character. The environment is warm and friendly, small and familiar in feel, yet full of bustle, activity and purpose, in which boys can find every opportunity for engagement and fulfilment.
We have an excellent record of achievement at Common Entrance and Scholarship level, particularly with the major London public schools. We especially prize enthusiasm and commitment, displayed by both staff and boys. We aim to foster self-respect, self-confidence and a sense of responsibility.

The School is responsive to individual needs and aims to develop the strengths and personality of each boy, whilst also encouraging a sense of responsibility, the growth of self-respect, and an understanding of community values.
Lyndhurst House promotes the core values of decency, tolerance, understanding and sympathy; in all areas of school life, we provide opportunities for pupils to find fulfilment, enjoyment, and the chance to excel.
Lyndhurst is a warm, safe environment in which boys develop their talents and receive an excellent early education. The School prides itself on its results, and also on the breadth of its education and the individual attention that is given to each boy by the dedicated and experienced staff. Our new boys quickly feel at home, and there is a natural progression from the first school to the larger secondary-school at thirteen.
