Cricket World Cup Visits Lyndhurst House School

The pupils at Lyndhurst House School were recently thrilled to be visited by the Cricket World Cup as part of the “Chance to Shine” programme.

The world cup starts with England – the hot favourites to win – playing South Africa on May 30th, and pupils were able to hear a bit about the history of the cricket world cup, and how the competition this year will work – 10 countries playing 1 match against every other team, and the top four then qualifying for the semi-finals.

In addition, the pupils were able to ask more general questions about cricket and sport to Luke Wright, England and Sussex cricketer.  Luke answered their questions with humour and self-effacement, as well as emphasising the good sportsmanship which epitomise cricket in general.
