The pupils at Lyndhurst House School were recently thrilled to be visited by the Cricket World Cup as part of the “Chance to Shine” programme.

Last week, our Year 6, 7 and 8 students went on a trip to The Lyceum Theatre to watch a fantastic performance of The Lion King. The show went down wonderfully with the boys who were enthralled by the incredible music, costumes, staging and acting from the outset.

The excitement begins at 8am as the van draws up in front of the school and is unloaded. It might be swords and shields, it might be a fireplace, it might be teddies and robots. Senior boys and teachers ferry the many boxes inside and they are unpacked, transforming the classroom into a great hall, a workshop, a museum. History off the Page is here!

Many of our boys have spent the last month working hard to raise money for the NSPCC by taking part in a sponsored skipping challenge and we are very happy to announce that these efforts have raised an amazing £3,213! Miss Xu who has been on maternity leave since the end of the summer term visited the school on Wednesday and has decided that she will not be returning to the school so that she can spend more time with her baby daughter, Jasmine. We send her, and Jasmine, all our very best wishes.
Mr Linnane, who has been standing in for Miss Xu since September, has agreed to continue in the post as director of music and I am delighted to announce that he is now a permanent appointment.
